Andalusia during the reign of Abd ar-Rahman I: Confrontation of Islam with Christian culture

Bachelor's Thesis "Andalusia during the life of Abd ar-Rahman I.: Confrontation of Islam with Christian culture" has for a task to describe Visigoth-Hispanian face of the Iberian Peninsula in the first place and an influence of Christianity then at the local region before the invasion of Islamic culture. Also, it will note the complicated situation in the Middle East between the Umayyad and the Abbasid dynasties, the culmination of which led the surviving Umayyads far to Europe to conquer a part of the territory of contemporary Spain. After the Muslim expansion then on the Iberian Peninsula, the thesis continues to view the lines of conquerors and analyse sources, which document us their point of view focused on newly gained territories and confrontation with local citizens of Christian culture, over whom they took domination. The thesis does not ignore also other reactions from the Christian rulers, who have ruled near the area where expansion happened and later became even their matter. Important is also perception of the new domination by just local citizens, survivors, who stayed in Andalusia despite the Islamic annexation under the Umayyad flag led by Abd ar-Rahman. The thesis consists of two parts: practical and theoretical. The practical part contains the Czech translation of the selected chapters of the Spanish guide for the novices in the world of flamenco, Guía del flamenco, published in 1999 by the Ediciones Ismo. The guide deals with the theme of flamenco, its origin and its components beginning with particular kinds of flamenco dance, the singing and the accompanying instruments with a special focus on the guitar. The theoretical part includes the translation annotation where the applied translation procedures, translation problems encountered while translating and their solutions are discussed on the basis of the translation analysis of the original text. Political behavior of the Andalusians

This study concerns the political behavior of the Andalusians and its reasons. In this autonomous community exists a traditional tendency to support the left-wing party PSOE. The object of this study is an analysis of this political trend and the aim is to explain why this phenomenon exists in the society. There is discovered the link between historical, sociopolitical and economical factors and the voting behavior of the Andalusians. The study is divided into a factographic and an analytical chapter. The first chapter includes a recapitulation of the results of autonomic elections and also there is an outline of the political behavior using the output of public opinion polls. These data are mentioned also in the next part of the study where are explained more deeply. The analytical chapter concerning the support of PSOE and its reasons is divided into parts following the character of the circumstanses affecting the political behavior. The first chapter is about historical factors, the second one about sociopolitical issues and the last one about economical factors. The main historical questions are the underdevelopment and poverty, the satisfaction paradox and the problem of latifundium. Spain as a tourist destination

This Bachelor's Thesis deals with tourism in Spain. The topic is quite broad so the main aim of the thesis is to evaluate tourism in two significantly different regions - Andalusia and Basque Country. The first chapter defines terms related to tourism that are essential to coherently understand this thesis. For example, this part defines the term tourism and its typology. The second chapter focuses on tourism in all of Spain. In particular, Spain is described in terms of history and how tourism is evaluated. In addition, Spain's most attractive places are presented. The second to last, and final chapter are similar in structure in order to perform a comparison of the chapters. The first part of both chapters describes the regions. Then, tourism is evaluated by using statistics from incoming tourists. Finally, SWOT analysis is used to comprehensively evaluate the previously mentioned information.
Tourism in Spain in Time of Economic and Debt Crisis

The aim of the thesis Tourism in Spain in Time of Economic and Debt Crisis is to evaluate the development of tourism in Spain and to define the role of this sector in the context of economic crisis by which the country has been strongly affected in recent years. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the economic profile of the country, the second part deals with the characteristics of tourism in Spain and the third part is a case study of Andalusia, which is an autonomous region of Spain most affected by the crisis. This part involves the introduction of Andalusia as an important tourist destination, evaluation of tourism as a major pillar of Andalusian economy and SWOT analysis of Andalusia which is based on all the findings. In conclusion, the author presents her suggestions regarding the development of tourism in Spain and the use of its unfulfilled potential.
Business environment, business and cultural specifics of Andalusia

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze the business environment of Andalusia, its business and cultural specifics and to mention the differences between this temperamental region and the rest of Spain. Thesis is divided into five main chapeters. The first chapter intruduces Andalusia from the geographical and historical point of view and explains its administrative divisions. The second one describes its political and legal environment. The third chapter talks about the economic situation and international business of Andalusia. The fourth chapter analyzes the technological environment and the last one contains business and cultural specifics and familiarizes the reader with customs and traditions of this Spanish region.
Analysis of Cultural Tourism of Andalusia

The object of this bachelor thesis is an analysis of tourism of Andalusia with a view to cultural tourism. The aim of the work is to demonstrate a huge number of social attractions of the region of Andalusia and manifest the fact that these social attractions are underrated by Czech tourists in comparison with natural attractions. The opening chapter deals with geographical, historical, administrative and economic characteristics of the region. The following chapter presents an introduction to the tourism of Spanish Andalusia as well as its analysis. The crucial parts of the work are the chapters presenting Andalusia as a tourist region and describing its cultural potential and attraction. In the final part of the thesis there are presented the analysis of tours to Andalusia offered in the Czech market and the interpretation of results of market research {--} knowledge of Czech people concerning the territory of Andalusia.
